Lane J. Lopez

Partner

Lane Lopez brought experience as a litigator with a Downtown Los Angeles law firm back to his native Ventura when he joined Ferguson Case Orr Paterson in 2014. He also brought his expansive grasp of tax law to the firm, where he also handles estate matters and business law.

Lane developed his expertise in taxation as a student at Loyola Law School, where he was the secretary of the campus’s Tax Law Society, volunteered with an income tax assistance program and wrote about the impact of federal tax law on disabled individuals. He earned his J.D. in 2003 and returned to Loyola seven years later to acquire a master’s in tax law.

In the intervening years, Lane rounded out his practice handling cases involving product and premises liability, employment, insurance and contract law for Shaw, Terhar & LaMontagne and as a solo practitioner. From 2011-2014, Lane developed the estate, probate and business planning elements of his practice while continuing his tax law work in Pasadena as a senior associate with Slater Cosme.

A Duke University graduate who majored in economics and minored in Japanese (He studied abroad in Japan in 1998 and speaks Japanese fluently), Lane likes to hike, travel, and listen to live music with his family in his free time.
