FCOP Welcomes New Partner Meghan Clark

(April 1, 2011)  Meghan Clark, a noted employment and appellate lawyer, has joined Ventura County-based law firm Ferguson Case Orr Paterson LLP as a partner. Clark also serves clients as general counsel and as an expert on equine-related issues. She is a Ventura County native and competitive horse rider since childhood.

“Her expertise and experience in employment law, business litigation and appellate law make Meghan a trifecta for clients and our firm,” noted Michael Velthoen, managing partner. “We’re happy to welcome her and her clients into the Ferguson Case Orr Paterson family.”

Clark graduated with honors in law and society from the University of California, Santa Barbara and received her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Wash. She was admitted to the bar in 1998. Since that time, she has handled criminal and civil appeals and civil litigation matters, including significant work in business litigation, employment litigation, intellectual property, trust and probate cases and construction defect. She has handled more than 30 appeals, and six cases have been the subject of publication. Clark was a senior partner with Nordman Cormany Hair and Compton LLP prior to joining FCOP.

She serves on the board of counselors for California Lutheran University and is the vice chair of the East Ventura County Employer’s Advisory Council. She has been a board member of the Ventura County Bar Association, California Young Lawyers Association, president of the Ventura County Barristers’ Association, and coach for the Thousand Oaks High School Mock Trial team.

“I have known the attorneys at FCOP for years and have always been impressed by the quality of their advocacy for their clients and the sophistication of their advice,” said Clark. “I knew that the depth of talent at FCOP was a good fit for me as an attorney and for providing solutions to my clients.”
