Jessica concentrates her practice on litigating complex intellectual property, commercial, and employment matters in federal and state court and before the USPTO. She is an experienced trial lawyer who works with her clients to determine what a win means for them and develops a plan to achieve that goal. In 2019, Jessica litigated an agricultural business dispute case through a three-week jury trial resulting in a multi-million dollar verdict in favor of her client.
Jessica also counsels clients on U.S. and global intellectual property strategies that support their business objectives whether it be through patents, trademarks, or copyrights in the areas of electrical and mechanical technologies. Using her strong litigation and engineering background, she emphasizes truly understanding the technology at issue to ensure that her clients’ intellectual property is comprehensively protected.
Jessica received her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law and was the salutatorian of her graduating class. After starting her career at one of the largest private law firms in Honolulu, Jessica moved to Ventura and joined Ferguson Case Orr Paterson.
Jessica graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California in 2011, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
She is admitted to practice in the States of California and Hawaii as well as the Federal District Court for the District of Hawaii, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Jessica has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020, and was named as one of the Pacific Coast Business Times’ “40 under 40” in 2019.
Jessica was born and raised in Honolulu. Outside of work, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog Obi Wan.
